Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Synapse mobile app and related services ("Synapse"). By using Synapse you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

1. The service

Synapse is a personal health journal that lets you log food, drink, exercise, sleep, mood, symptoms, and notes, and provides AI-generated summaries, estimates, and suggestions based on what you log.

2. Not medical advice

Synapse is not a medical device and does not provide medical, nutritional, or professional health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition estimates and AI suggestions are approximate and for informational use only. Always consult a qualified professional for medical decisions, and never disregard professional advice because of something in the app. If you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.

3. Your account

You're responsible for activity under your account and for the accuracy of what you provide. You must be at least 13 (or the minimum age in your country) to use Synapse.

4. Subscriptions & billing

• Synapse Premium is an auto-renewable subscription billed through your Apple App Store account, with an introductory 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers.
• Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription automatically renews at the then-current price. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel anytime in your device's App Store account settings. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Prices may change; we'll give notice as required, and changes take effect on your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Synapse: no unlawful use, no attempts to break, overload, reverse- engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service, and no use that infringes others' rights.

6. Intellectual property

Synapse and its content (excluding your own data) are owned by us and our licensors. You keep ownership of the data you create; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service for you (including processing it with the providers described in our Privacy Policy).

7. Disclaimers

Synapse is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and uninterrupted availability.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) Synapse. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using Synapse and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or as needed to operate the service.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law & contact
